Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Med/Surg & Emergency Room position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and an active NE or compact RN license.

Details

• Combined Med/Surg and Emergency Room setting at a rural health services facility
• Patient population includes ER, Med/Surg, Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR), Nursery, and newborn care
• Night shift: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM, 3 days per week
• Every 3rd weekend rotation required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license currently in hand
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and STABLE
• Strong communication skills required
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

• Responsibilities span multiple care areas including ER, Med/Surg, obstetrics, and newborn care
• Provides nursing care in the ER and obstetrical settings following demonstrated competence
• Assists with planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care plans
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees
• Participates in quality assurance programs, committees, in-service programs, and educational workshops
• Provides leadership in medical concerns in the absence of a physician
• Indoor, smoke-free patient care environment with frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and communicable diseases
