Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac step-down experience and an OH or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Pediatric Telemetry (Step-Down) unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes pediatric cardiac cases — both medical and surgical, including post-op cardiac catheterization, post-CTICU patients, and heart and lung transplant recipients
• Specialized procedures include tracheostomy care, mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), inotrope administration, and IV vasopressor management
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Night shift: 7p–7:30a, 3x12-hour shifts
• Floating to different units is a requirement and strongly emphasized at this facility
• Local candidates are not eligible for this position — candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital setting (hard requirement)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric cardiac step-down experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, TPN/lipids, blood product administration, and emergency medication administration
• Respiratory skills including ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Cardiac skills including dysrhythmia interpretation, post-cardiac catheterization care, and antiarrhythmic administration
• 2 supervisor or manager-level references required for consideration (charge nurse references are not accepted)
• Candidates must not have worked permanently at this facility within the past 2 years

Additional Information

• Preferred skills include dysrhythmia management, pediatric dosage calculations, and ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) experience
• Additional competencies include NG tube management, infection control/PPE, isolation precautions, and vaccine administration
• Punctuality is strictly enforced at this facility
