Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric critical care experience and an OH or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Position is based in a pediatric hospital CVPICU setting
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Floating is required and may include NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and med/surg units as needed
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience in a pediatric hospital — this is a hard stop requirement
• Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and IV starts
• Respiratory skills required: ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, ETT/NT suctioning, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring
• Cardiovascular skills required: hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, congenital heart disease/repair, post cardiac catheterization care
• Medication skills required: continuous sedation management, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Preferred skills include ECMO, post cardiac surgery care, ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) experience, and CRRT
• 2 supervisory or manager-level references required for consideration (charge nurse references are not accepted)
• Must not have worked permanently for this health system within the past 2 years

• Travelers must be fully prepared to float to alternate units and comply with all facility float expectations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply — travel experience is not required
