Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of PICU or CTPICU experience for a night shift travel assignment in a pediatric cardiovascular/cardiac ICU setting.

Details

  • Position is in a Cardiovascular PICU (CVPICU) / Cardiac unit at a pediatric hospital
  • Pediatric critical care patient population, including cardiac ICU cases
  • Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Floating to different units is a requirement for this assignment
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RRT credential required
  • OH state RRT license required; license must be in hand prior to consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU or CTPICU experience in a pediatric hospital (hard stop requirement)
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Pediatric cardiac ICU experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high-frequency oscillators, and mechanical ventilation weaning
  • Experience with nitric oxide (iNO), HFNC, aerosol therapy, airway management, tracheostomy care, intubation assist, and ABG interpretation
  • Two supervisory references required for consideration (at least one must hold a manager or supervisor title; charge nurse references count for one only)
  • Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill pediatric and cardiac ICU patients
  • Responsibilities include medication delivery, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, airway suctioning and management, nebulizer therapy, and chest physiotherapy
  • Candidates who have previously worked permanently at this facility must have a gap of at least 2 years before being eligible
