Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/SCU position at a Critical Access, Level 4 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and proficiency with specialized procedures and equipment.

Details

• Step-Down/SCU unit within a 19-bed Critical Access, Level 4 trauma center
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Specialized procedures include Central Line Insertion, Cardioversion, ART Line Insertion, and Chest Tube Insertion
• Specialized equipment includes NICOM, Nihon Kohden, Heated High Flow (Airvo), BiPAP (V60), and Ventilator (PB980)
• Charting via Epic (Excellian); experience required
• No on-call required
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Step-Down or Med/Surg/SCU experience required
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Candidates previously employed as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked before being considered
• Pre-start modules are required to be completed before the assignment begins
• RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
• 13-week minimum contract; longer contracts may be available upon request
