Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, with call responsibilities and advanced cardiac procedural skills.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (7:30–18:00), with some early shifts starting at 06:30
- One of the four weekly shifts is designated as a late shift, requiring the clinician to complete the last case of the day
- On-call required one night per week
- Weekend requirement of one weekend every other month
- Floating required as needed
- Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, PCI, cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, rotablator atherectomy, and scrub procedures
- Preferred procedural experience includes TAVR, Watchman procedure, ASD closures, valvuloplasty, endovascular interventions, carotid stenting, and vascular scrub procedures
- Medication administration includes antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, reversal agents, and procedural sedation
- Systems used include Pyxis, MAC LAB, CUPID, Epic, and SBAR
- Self-scheduling unit
- Scrubs are provided
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures, including sheath removal, PA line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, cardioversion, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and topical hemostasis techniques
- Experience with activated clotting time (ACT), end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and IV infusion pumps required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- State Board of Nursing license verification and NURSYS verification required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
- Local candidates are accepted
- Unit orientation is approximately 24 hours
- Candidate must be available for a manager interview prior to offer; interview availability for the next 72 hours should be provided at time of submission
- Preferred skills include pre/post procedure care, radiation and laser safety, malignant hyperthermia and hypothermia protocols, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
