Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an acute care hospital in South Carolina, requiring 2 years of ED experience and active Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a 286-bed acute care hospital
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Patient ratios are based on acuity
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility and department needs
  • No on-call requirement
  • Charting performed in Epic
  • Free parking available on-site

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be licensed prior to start
  • Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have emergency room experience
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration; approval is based on facility needs
  • Block scheduling is not available for this position
  • Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
  • Royal blue scrubs are required
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
