Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Nurse for a 9-week contract at an acute care facility in Halethorpe, MD, supporting diagnostic and minimally invasive IR procedures across multiple locations.

Details

• Interventional Radiology (IR) unit supporting multiple IR locations within the facility
• Patients undergoing diagnostic and minimally invasive IR procedures
• Day shift, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• No call, no weekends, and holidays off
• Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license required; license required if applicable
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Moderate Sedation certification preferred
• Experience in IR nursing, including circulating and moderate sedation roles
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• All licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration — pending credentials are not accepted

Additional Information

• Performs comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including review of medical history, medications, allergies, vital signs, and patient consent verification
• Provides intra-procedure support as a circulating nurse or moderate sedation nurse, monitoring patient status, vital signs, oxygenation, and medication response
• Administers and monitors moderate sedation per organizational policies and clinical protocols
• Collects, labels, documents, and coordinates proper handling and transport of specimens per facility and laboratory requirements
• Provides post-procedure recovery care, monitors for complications, and ensures patients meet discharge criteria
• Delivers patient and family education, discharge instructions, and supports post-procedure follow-up as needed
• Collaborates with physicians, technologists, schedulers, and interdisciplinary teams to support workflow and quality care
• Maintains accurate clinical documentation and ensures readiness of medications, supplies, and emergency equipment per regulatory standards
• Local candidates are accepted — local and travel rates are the same
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as contingent workers may be subject to tenure restrictions requiring a 90-day break before returning
