Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and remote telemetry monitoring experience.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Specialized stroke (neuro) patient population alongside patients with multiple co-morbidities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
• Procedures include feeding tube care and management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and IV starts
• Additional clinical skills include CVA care, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound VAC management
• Epic EMR — experience is mandatory
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• Floating between all system facilities is required for all travelers
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency with feeding tube care and management required
• Experience with port access, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, and IV insertion required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
