Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Neurosurgery and ENT unit, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• 18-bed acute post-op unit serving Neurosurgery and ENT patients in a hospital setting
• Neurosurgery cases include brain and spinal surgeries, traumas, cancer, stroke, and intracranial bleeds
• ENT cases include head and neck malignancies, cancer, infection, and surgeries involving the head, mouth, tongue, jaw, thyroid, and oropharynx
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charge nurse role required as needed — training provided

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Expected to assess and address cultural, ethnic, and developmental factors in patient care planning
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of commitment; background check and drug screen results may take at least 2 weeks to process
