Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of experience and proficiency with advanced procedures including chest tubes, central lines, and vasoactive drip titration.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes those requiring telemetry monitoring and management of complex lines and drains
• Procedures include chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines
• Experience with vasoactive and titrated drip medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; an Iowa RN license is also required, or proof of application for an Iowa single-state or compact RN license
• Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Proficiency with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
• Experience with titration of vasoactive drips required
• One supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years required
• Driver's license required
• Must not have been employed by the client health system within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility locations include trauma centers ranging from Level 1 to Level 4 depending on assignment site
• Travelers are required to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
• RTO during the Thanksgiving and winter holiday windows is limited to 1 day per window
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel rates; local candidates in the Madison area may be considered at a reduced rate
• Skills checklist must have been completed within 1 year prior to consideration
