Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 5 years of L&D experience and active AZ or compact RN license.

Details

• Works in a Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics unit covering L&D, postpartum, and newborn (babies-in-room) care
• Unit averages approximately 40 vaginal deliveries and 6 C-sections per month
• Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) environment with babies rooming in with mothers
• Primary shift is 12-hour days; must be flexible to cover other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Floating to other qualified departments may be required, including taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights or phones
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS (or ALSO), NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM); RNC-EFM may substitute for AWHONN FHM
• STABLE certification required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing care across L&D, postpartum, and newborn settings within a BFHI-model unit
• May be asked to serve as charge nurse on occasion following charge nurse training
• Orientation is held on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline will result in being pushed to the following Monday's orientation
