Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer for a 13-week travel contract in an EKG Lab setting, with expertise in 2D, color Doppler, and stress echocardiography required.
Details
- Position is based in an EKG Lab at an acute care hospital in the Boston, MA area
- Performs 2D, color Doppler, and Doppler echocardiograms as well as stress and dobutamine echocardiograms
- Includes multiple portable studies per day requiring mobilization of ultrasound equipment
- Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 13-week contract
- Charting via Epic EMR
Requirements
- BLS certification required — AHA only; Red Cross not accepted at this location
- Active MA license required if applicable; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- Proficiency in non-imaging continuous Doppler and all phases of echocardiography
- Must be skilled in diagnosing wall motion abnormalities, LV regional wall abnormalities, pericardial and pleural effusion, stenotic and regurgitant lesions, and congenital abnormalities
- Ability to review and interpret test results and communicate preliminary findings to referring physicians
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include reviewing patient charts for clinical history, explaining procedures to patients, and positioning patients for cardiac ultrasound exams
- Records, calculates, and plots control values on technical instruments to ensure reliability and accuracy of results
- Prepares test reports utilizing ancillary devices such as video recorder and transducer to create a permanent record of each examination
- Maintains testing rooms in clean and orderly condition, including stocking supplies and cleaning equipment
- Flu vaccine is required; no religious or medical exemptions are accepted
- No validated parking is available at Boston-area locations; public transportation and public parking lots are available at candidate's expense
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible but may be subject to a reduced pay rate
- Time keeping is managed via UKG/Kronos
