Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU night shift position at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience and active Epic proficiency.
Details
- Higher-acuity Med/Surg Telemetry (PCU) unit within an acute care hospital and Level 3 Trauma Center
- Common diagnoses and procedures include altered mental status, CHF, stroke, orthopedic and surgical cases, DKA, and infections
- No IV drips administered on this unit
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
- 3 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting via Epic (experience required; Oklahoma-based Epic experience preferred)
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting required
- Minimum of two successful prior travel assignments required with no performance or attendance issues
- Strong cardiac assessment skills required (self-rating of 3 or above)
- Basic dysrhythmia training preferred (self-rating of 3 or above)
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably used within the past year
- Clean background — no background hits allowed
Additional Information
- Scrub color varies by unit
- Parking is free
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days for the 13-week assignment; no RTO will be approved after the time of initial consideration or while on contract
- No RTO approved the day before, the day of, or the day after a holiday
- The facility enforces a zero-fault attendance policy — any missed scheduled shift, regardless of reason, is counted as unexcused; 2 missed shifts result in a warning and 3 or more may result in contract cancellation
- Candidates must be available to complete a lab visit within 48–72 hours of signing
- All assigned modules must be completed prior to the start date
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
