Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU float-to-ICU position requiring at least 2 years of recent ICU experience and Level 1 trauma background, with night shifts available in 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts.

Details

• Position is primarily a PCU role with float responsibilities to ICU and other PCU/transitional units
• High-acuity patient population, including patients requiring rapid response intervention
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12-hour shifts)
• 36 or 48 hours per week contract options available
• Floating required to ICU and other PCU/transitional units

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license, in hand at time of consideration — no licensure hits accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in a high-acuity PCU required
• PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage patients requiring rapid response
• 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Orientation provided to transitional units
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront — RTO requests made after submission will not be approved
• Former permanent employees of this health system must have been gone at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
