Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment at an academic medical center in Shreveport, LA, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Academic medical center setting in Shreveport, LA
- Neuro ICU unit with an average daily census of 10 patients
- 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating may occur when the Neuro ICU is overstaffed or another ICU is critically understaffed — float assignments are limited to other ICU units only
- Epic EMR experience is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Louisiana RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications (all must be AHA-issued): BLS, ACLS, and CPI
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU nursing experience required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
- Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may designate travelers to an Emergency Team, which may require remaining at the facility during or after an emergency event or participating as part of a relief team
