Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology Clinic practice nurse role requiring ambulatory care and oncology experience, with no infusion duties involved.

Details

  • Ambulatory oncology clinic setting within a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with over 1,500 staffed beds
  • Practice nurse role — this is not an infusion position; no chemotherapy infusion is administered at this clinic
  • Patient population includes oncology patients before, during, and after treatment, including follow-up, pre-op, and post-op visits
  • Core duties include telephone triage, in-basket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits
  • Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • No weekend requirements
  • Floating between specialties may be required to meet facility needs
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Paid parking available on-site (~$125/month)

Requirements

  • Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)
  • Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
  • Ambulatory or outpatient clinic experience required
  • Telephone triage experience required
  • Chemotherapy knowledge and experience required
  • ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification required
  • Prior experience at a large trauma center or academic medical center required
  • Clean nursing license with no prior actions or disciplinary history
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Flu vaccination is mandatory; declinations are not accepted
  • COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
  • Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted for this position
  • RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
