Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuroscience ICU/IMCU position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of neuro ICU experience and the ability to float between the ICU and stepdown units on night shift.

Details

• Work is performed in the Neuroscience ICU (8AB) and associated stepdown/IMCU unit of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Floating between the Neuro ICU and stepdown unit is expected
• Patient ratios are 1:2 in the ICU and 1:3–4 in the stepdown
• Complex neurological and trauma cases with high patient acuity and volume
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is generally not approved
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA state or compact license required
• Current BLS certification required (certification card required for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro ICU or neuro stepdown specialty
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and severe cases required
• Background in large-scale trauma environments with proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced situations required
• Active Nursys license verification required for consideration
• Skills checklist matching neuro ICU/IMCU specialty required for consideration

Additional Information

• This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are not a strong fit for this role
• Candidates with strong neuro experience should ensure this is clearly reflected in their work history
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Work history must include EMR experience and have no gaps greater than 60 days
