Description
American Traveler is seeking a PT for an Acute Care Hospital position at a teaching, Level IV trauma facility in Arizona, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active AZ PT license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 87 staffed beds
- PT Acute Care unit with an average daily census of 11 patients
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Wednesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Weekend coverage is required as the department operates 7 days a week
- May be asked to float to surrounding outpatient clinics
- Charting is done in Cerner
- Free parking is available on-site
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
- Active Arizona PT license required prior to start; compact-eligible candidates will be considered
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required — note that obtaining an AZ PT license requires submission of a fingerprint clearance card, and the full licensure process can take 7–12 weeks
- License required if applicable
- Generalist background preferred, with confidence treating patients with varied medical diagnoses
- Ability to manage moderate to maximum assist patients, perform co-treatments, and work with ventilated patients preferred
Additional Information
- Facility is a teaching hospital and Level IV trauma center
- Responsibilities include evaluations and treatments across a general acute care caseload, with the expectation to pivot and pick up additional evaluations throughout the day
- Business casual attire required — no scrubs specified

- All time off requests require unit manager approval
- All employees are expected to adhere to facility quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration protocols (BCMA)
