Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Stepdown/Intermediate Care position requiring 2 years of experience, Cerner proficiency, and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.
Details
- 22-bed Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit in a community hospital setting
- Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, and respiratory conditions requiring intermediate-level monitoring
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- On-call responsibilities required
- Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume and census
- Charting via Cerner PowerChart (experience required)
- Caribbean Blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required (pending license acceptable if candidate is pursuing licensure)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- CPI certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Stepdown, PCU, telemetry, or IMC work setting experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Core skills required include IV therapy, central line care/management, blood product administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must not have worked at this facility within the past 3 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
- Local candidates will not be considered; must live 50+ miles from the facility
- Max RTO is 10 days; if any RTO falls during the holidays, the traveler must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 holiday dates
- Up to 8 hours of self-reported pre-start online modules are required to be completed within 1 week of signing
- Background check is conducted via Nursys
- Professional conduct is taken very seriously at this facility — unprofessional behavior or excessive call-offs may result in immediate contract termination
