Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Stepdown/Intermediate Care position requiring 2 years of experience, Cerner proficiency, and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

Details

• 22-bed Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit in a community hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, and respiratory conditions requiring intermediate-level monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume and census
• Charting via Cerner PowerChart (experience required)
• Caribbean Blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required (pending license acceptable if candidate is pursuing licensure)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Stepdown, PCU, telemetry, or IMC work setting experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Core skills required include IV therapy, central line care/management, blood product administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Candidates must not have worked at this facility within the past 3 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates will not be considered; must live 50+ miles from the facility
• Max RTO is 10 days; if any RTO falls during the holidays, the traveler must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 holiday dates
• Up to 8 hours of self-reported pre-start online modules are required to be completed within 1 week of signing
• Background check is conducted via Nursys
• Professional conduct is taken very seriously at this facility — unprofessional behavior or excessive call-offs may result in immediate contract termination
