Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department position requiring active ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital Emergency Department (ED) with 27 beds
  • Trauma Level II facility
  • Patient population includes all age groups
  • Support staff on each shift includes nursing aides, EMTs, and paramedics
  • Phlebotomy services available for lab draws
  • Charting system: Epic
  • 12-hour night shifts; available shift start times include 7p–7a, with other staggered options (9p, 11p, 1a, 3a)
  • Weekend requirement is every third weekend; night weekends are Friday and Saturday
  • Self-scheduling is available
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • No floating requirements

Requirements

  • Active NE or Compact (NLC) RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of ED/ER nursing experience required
  • Required certifications (all must be active; pending not accepted): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified by driver's license
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Candidates may not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population spanning all age groups in a high-acuity trauma environment
  • A pass/fail, open-book exam covering skills learned during orientation is administered on the first Friday of orientation; a score of 90% or higher is required to continue the assignment
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result to contract termination
  • RTO requests of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
  • 13-week assignment; June start dates only
