Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist for a night shift position at an acute care hospital in Albany, GA, requiring at least 1 year of MRI experience and Siemens equipment proficiency.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with a high-volume MRI department operating 4 total scanners, with 2 staffed by agency travelers and an additional mobile unit
- Common studies include musculoskeletal imaging, basic neuro, abdominal/pelvic imaging, radiation oncology, and breast imaging
- Patient population includes inpatients, outpatients, ICU, NICU, pacer, and anesthesia patients, with 10–14 inpatients and 4–8 outpatients per day on weekends
- Average of 30 scans per day due to long imaging protocols
- Siemens scanners in use; facility is acquiring a Philips scanner
- EMR: MEDITECH; PACS: McKesson/Change Healthcare
- 4x10-hour night shifts, Monday–Thursday, 7:00 PM–5:30 AM
- Weekend work only applies if hired for a weekend shift
- Holiday coverage required on a rotational basis
- No call requirement, though voluntary call coverage may be available when short-staffed
- No floating to other areas required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience required
- Current BLS (AHA or ARC) and ARRT (MR) certification required
- Siemens MRI equipment experience required; Philips experience preferred
- IV placement skills required
- Level II trauma experience is a strong plus, as the facility operates similarly to a Level I
- Travel experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (measured from the address on the candidate's Driver's License) to be eligible for placement
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
- Orientation consists of 1–2 weeks of department-specific training (approximately 16 orientation hours)
- A full-time supervisor is present on all shifts; a senior tech is scheduled when a lead tech is unavailable
- Radiologists are in-house during daytime hours; the majority of MRI reads are performed remotely
- Required dress code is black scrubs with a black or gray jacket (no fleece); a black or gray undershirt may be worn underneath — scrubs are not provided
- Time-off requests and scheduling accommodations are honored only if included at the time of initial assignment confirmation
