Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro unit position at a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and availability for night shifts.

Details

• 26-bed Med/Surg Neuro unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital (COTH member) with 855 total staffed beds
• Patient population includes CVA, TBI, epidural and subdural hematoma, seizure disorder, spinal cord injuries and disorders, and an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift (7p-7a) with 3x12 or 4x12 schedule options (36hr or 48hr contract)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Charting in Cerner
• Short-term acute care setting
• Blocked schedule requests can be accommodated

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending RN license may be considered
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates within 75–99 miles may be submitted for facility approval

• Orientation is held every other week on Thursdays
