Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with acute and trauma experience for an adult rehabilitation services unit at a hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

  • Adult Rehabilitation Services unit in an acute care hospital setting in Oklahoma City, OK
  • Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
  • Acute and trauma experience required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Current Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification from the AHA required
  • Minimum 1 year of OT experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Acute and trauma setting experience required
  • Travel candidates preferred; non-travel candidates will be considered
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures
  • Evaluate patients in areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and psychosocial skills
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, treatment frequency, and duration
  • Assist patients through design and fabrication of adaptive equipment, orthotic devices, joint protection, and body mechanics instruction
  • Support discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patients on home therapy plans
  • May supervise occupational therapy students
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a new contract; extensions are permitted only once, for a maximum total of 26 weeks
  • Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strictly enforced and must begin immediately upon booking

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish. Everything was explained clearly, and I always knew what the next step was, i never felt like i was left in the dark. One of my favorite things has been how communicative everyone is. Whether it’s my recruiter, Amanda, or Iranna from payroll, I always get a quick response when I have a question. It’s nice working with a team that actually follows up and keeps you in the loop. Amanda has been awesome throughout my assignment. She checks in regularly with a call or text just to see how things are going and make sure I don’t need anything. That level of support has really stood out to me. I’m rly happy I chose American Traveler for my first assignment, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.
