Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring 2+ years of high-risk OB experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- High-risk (Level 3) OB patient population
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required (approximately 2 weekends per month)
- Charting performed in Cerner
- Mandatory float facility — all travelers are required to float to other units or Cook County facilities at the facility's discretion, with up to 50-mile floating radius and as little as 2 hours' notice before a shift
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of high-risk (Level 3) OB nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and NIHSS
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Proof of COVID vaccination required — no exceptions
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility to be considered
- Local candidates are accepted and preferred
- RTO is capped at 5 days for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
- No RTO will be approved on weekends, on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
- When floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model is utilized
- Scrubs of any color are permitted
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 2+ years of high-risk OB experience is required
