Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position working night shifts at a hospital in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of recent SICU experience and an active LA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Surgical ICU (SICU) setting within a hospital environment
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license — Louisiana or Compact license required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a surgical ICU or equivalent specialty
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
  • Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

Staff nurses very friendly and lots of team work. Very high acuity patients provides good experience.

Cons

HCA facility, lots of ED holds, ICU holds in the department. Facility accepts lots of transfers. Patients in hallway beds due to high volume.
