Description

American Traveler is seeking a RN for a Med Surg with ED Float position requiring charge RN experience, TNCC certification, and eligibility for night shift in a small inpatient setting.

Details

• Hospital-based Med Surg unit with required floating to the Emergency Department
• Unit consists of 6 inpatient beds and 6 universal beds with an average daily census of 5
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
• Typical staffing includes 2 RNs and a tech — travelers will never work alone
• 12-hour night shifts on a 4x12 schedule
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Pyxis, BD Alaris pumps, and Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license in good standing
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network), ACLS (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network), and TNCC
• Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program required; BSN preferred
• Charge RN experience required
• Must be qualified, able, and willing to float to the ED
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes in a fast-paced environment
• Epic EMR training is required and will be provided during orientation
• Orientation length is flexible and based on the traveler's comfort level, conducted alongside another RN
• Solid-colored scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
