Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience for a 13-week contract in Charlotte, NC, working a dedicated weekend day shift schedule.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting with 373 licensed beds, offering a full range of imaging services including X-ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine
  • Radiology - Special Procedures department serving ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient populations
  • Common procedures include embolizations (visceral GI bleed, uterine artery, prostate, liver chemo), port insertion/removal, nephrostomy tube insertion, IVC filter placement/retrieval, biliary stent placement/exchange, vascular stent placement, angioplasty, venacavagram, G/J tube insertion/exchange, double J stent placement, suprapubic insertion, fistulagram, fistula declot, CO2 angiogram, venogram, trifusion insertion, Pleurex catheter insertion (chest and abdominal), PICC insertion/exchange, perm catheter insertion, Vasacath insertion, Hickman insertion, Hohn insertion, transjugular liver biopsy, and sheath pulls (arterial and venous)
  • EMR: Epic; PACS: Philips iSite; department equipment includes a Philips monitoring system
  • 12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (36 hours/week)
  • On-call requirements apply
  • No floating outside the department

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience, with most recent experience within the last year
  • ARRT(R) certification required
  • Current BLS required
  • Vascular Interventional Radiology (VI) certification preferred
  • Active state license required if applicable
  • Proficiency with core IR procedures including GI bleed/embolization, nephrostomy tubes, IVC filter placement, and suprapubic catheter insertion
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
  • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

  • Team of 3 techs scheduled daily, rotating through circulating, scrubbing, and documenting roles; nurse and radiologist support also available
  • When working overnight, the IR Tech may be the only technologist on duty
  • Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) and up to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed
  • Holiday coverage is required
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Free parking available in surface lots and parking decks
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • Former employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated from a permanent position for at least 1 year before being eligible
  • A clinical interview with the manager is required
