Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level I Trauma and critical care experience for a day shift travel assignment at a Magnet, teaching hospital in Washington State.

Details

• Work in a large 500-bed Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Covers BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU units serving patients of all ages, though the pediatric population is generally small
• Patient population includes adult trauma, burns, neurologically and medically complex cases, with a high volume of trach patients, spinal cord injuries, and complex sleep-disordered breathing
• Busy ED with ECLS transfers
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling available
• No on-call required
• No floating required
• Epic EMR is used; prior Epic experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active WA State Respiratory Therapist license required (pending license not accepted); license required if applicable
• RRT credential required
• Minimum 2 years of experience, including Level I Trauma experience
• Critical care experience within the last 12 months required
• Current BLS certification required
• Proficiency in monitoring, ventilator management, O2 therapy, and care of adult ICU and trauma patients
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required; open to training in peds
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
• Former UW facility staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
• Onsite parking is available at a daily cost; offsite parking with shuttle service is also available approximately 1 mile from the facility (shuttle runs weekdays only, 5 AM–10 PM)
