Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level I Trauma and critical care experience for a day shift travel assignment at a Magnet, teaching hospital in Washington State.
Details
- Work in a large 500-bed Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Covers BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU units serving patients of all ages, though the pediatric population is generally small
- Patient population includes adult trauma, burns, neurologically and medically complex cases, with a high volume of trach patients, spinal cord injuries, and complex sleep-disordered breathing
- Busy ED with ECLS transfers
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling available
- No on-call required
- No floating required
- Epic EMR is used; prior Epic experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active WA State Respiratory Therapist license required (pending license not accepted); license required if applicable
- RRT credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience, including Level I Trauma experience
- Critical care experience within the last 12 months required
- Current BLS certification required
- Proficiency in monitoring, ventilator management, O2 therapy, and care of adult ICU and trauma patients
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required; open to training in peds
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
- Former UW facility staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
- Onsite parking is available at a daily cost; offsite parking with shuttle service is also available approximately 1 mile from the facility (shuttle runs weekdays only, 5 AM–10 PM)
