Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level I Trauma experience for a night shift position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Washington state.
Details
- Work in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment covering BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU
- Patient population includes adults and a small pediatric census, with a high volume of trauma, burn, neurologically complex, and spinal cord injury patients
- High caseload of tracheostomy patients and patients with complex sleep-disordered breathing
- Active ED with ECLS transfers
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- 13-week contract
- No on-call required
- No floating required
- Block scheduling available
- Epic EMR — experience preferred but not required
- Local candidates accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
Requirements
- RRT credential required
- Active WA state license required (pending license not accepted); license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience, with experience in the last 12 months required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Adult trauma and burn experience required, including medically and neurologically complex patients
- Proficiency in ventilator management, monitoring, oxygen therapy, and adult ICU patient care
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital employment required
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required; open to on-the-job peds training
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
Additional Information
- 500-bed Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic teaching hospital
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former UW facility staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being considered as a traveler
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
- Scrubs: any solid color accepted; light blue scrubs also provided on the unit
- Onsite parking available at $15/day weekdays, $5 evenings, $4 nights/weekends; offsite parking available at $10/day with a 10-minute shuttle (weekdays, 5am–10pm only, approximately 1 mile from facility)
