Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) with pediatric imaging experience for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Pediatric hospital setting within a large Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital (865 staffed beds)
- Pediatric imaging unit with potential to float to other pediatric imaging locations on campus for critical staffing coverage
- 4x10-hour night shifts, Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM, with holiday rotation
- On-call is required and included in the shift rotation — must be able to report within 1 hour of being called in; on-call hours are Mon–Fri 7 PM–7 AM and weekends 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM
- Orientation during the first week may take place on day shift before the set schedule begins
- Charting via Epic
- Daily caseload varies
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of X-Ray Technologist experience
- ARRT (R) or SCRQSA (R) certification required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- OR experience and C-arm experience required
- SC state license must be in hand prior to start date — license required if applicable
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Must be able to report to on-call within 1 hour of being called in
- Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- O-arm experience is preferred; training will be available for both O-arm and OR procedures
- Trauma experience and pediatric imaging experience are preferred but not required
- Teal top and black bottom scrubs required
- A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the agency — the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; approval is based on facility needs
- Parking is required on nights and weekends and requires a one-time $20 parking pass payment
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
