Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist (Angio/Interventionalist) with 1-2 years of vascular or interventional experience and ARRT(R) certification for a hospital-based IR unit in Golden, CO.

Details

• Hospital-based Interventional Radiology (Angio) unit
• Schedule of 3 or 4 x 10-hour day shifts per week
• On-call requirement of approximately 1 weekday shift per week and 1 weekend per month
• 40 hours per week
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Procedures include angiography, embolizations, SIRT mapping and treatments, nephrostomy tube placements, biliary tube placements, CT-guided drains/biopsies/ablations, and Neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of IR or vascular/interventional experience required; 1-2 years preferred
• ARRT(R) certification required — must be AHA-issued and must not expire prior to start date
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Vascular/Interventional Radiography (ARRT VI) certification preferred
• Active state license required if applicable
• Experience operating IR imaging equipment and related information systems
• Proficiency in angiography procedures, scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring tech roles
• Knowledge of radiation safety practices; a personal dosimeter is required for this assignment
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Serve as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech per Angio lab policies and Scope of Practice
• Responsibilities include patient identification and preparation, order verification, consent obtaining, and post-procedure coordination of care
• Performs sheath removal, suturing, and hemostasis application at the end of procedures
• Maintains knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies including proper use and deployment techniques
• Adheres to medical necessity, coding, charging, and QC program protocols; reports equipment failures as required
• Provides patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses patient and family concerns
• Maintains accurate records of procedures performed and any adverse reactions or incidents
• Transports patients and maintains work area and supply stock as needed
• Candidates who have been permanent staff at an Intermountain facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
