Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Float Pool position in Rockford, IL, requiring extensive cardiac and ICU experience with the ability to float across multiple units including Telemetry, Step-Down, and Med-Surg.

Details

• Float Pool position covering multiple units including Cardiac Progressive Care (CPCU), ICU/Coronary Care, Med-Surg (Adult and Ortho), Step-Down, and Cardiac/Med-Surg Telemetry
• Stroke/Neuro unit coverage also included in float rotation
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• ICU experience is required
• Extensive cardiac experience is required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; education verification will be conducted
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Additional Information

• Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• Administers medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and state practice standards
• Develops and executes individualized patient plans of care, including patient and family education
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Applies clinical expertise to support patients' longitudinal plans of care across units and departments
• Utilizes critical thinking to promote patient safety and escalates concerns through the appropriate chain of command
• Candidates must be willing to float down to Med-Surg as needed
