Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience.

Details

• Works in the ICU of a 562-bed Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Primary focus is a trauma/burn ICU with medical and cardiac overflow patients
• Average daily census of 10 patients
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call is required for this position
• Floating is required — travelers float first, to all other ICUs (Medical, Neuro, Cardiac), IMC, and general floors on modified teams as needed
• Floating may also occur to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Charting is done in Cerner
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• NIHSS, TNCC, and TNS certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted — candidates must be placed individually
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required
