Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience.
Details
- Works in the ICU of a 562-bed Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital
- Primary focus is a trauma/burn ICU with medical and cardiac overflow patients
- Average daily census of 10 patients
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required
- On-call is required for this position
- Floating is required — travelers float first, to all other ICUs (Medical, Neuro, Cardiac), IMC, and general floors on modified teams as needed
- Floating may also occur to an affiliate hospital nearby
- Charting is done in Cerner
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
- NIHSS, TNCC, and TNS certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted — candidates must be placed individually
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Scrubs may be any solid color
- Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required
