Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a fast-paced academic hospital IR department in Kansas City, KS, requiring a minimum of 2 years of IR and scrub experience.
Details
- Work in a high-volume Interventional Radiology department operating 7 procedure rooms with a siloed setup
- Handles approximately 60–65 cases per day, including all line placements for the entire hospital and outpatient services
- Cases are primarily neck-down with some light neuro overflow (e.g., thyroid biopsies)
- Equipment includes Siemens Artis icono, Artis Q, and Artis zee (single-plane; no biplane functionality)
- Day shift, 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- On-call required as needed
- No weekend or holiday requirements; if a holiday falls on a scheduled workday, subsequent pay period will be adjusted accordingly
- May float to a secondary IR location (Cambridge IR)
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of IR Tech experience with scrub experience required
- ARRT (Radiography) certification required
- Kansas State license required if applicable
- New graduates will not be considered
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform interventional radiology procedures including vascular line placements, peripheral interventions, and light neuro overflow cases such as thyroid biopsies
- 3+ years of IR experience preferred, along with large hospital, peripheral, and neurovascular experience
- Orientation is held every Monday and Tuesday, with an additional nursing orientation component held Wednesday through Friday on a bi-weekly schedule
- This is a nicotine-free facility
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
