Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardio ICU position requiring 2+ years of dedicated Cardiac ICU experience and recent competency with advanced cardiac support devices including ECMO and Impella.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiac ICU (24-bed unit)
• Patient population includes Cardiogenic Shock, STEMI, Cardiac Arrest, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Lysis, Post IR/PCI Procedures, and TEVAR
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU; 1:3 in Stepdown
• Advanced modalities in use: VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT, PA Catheter/Swan-Ganz, and TTM/Arctic Sun
• EMR: Epic
• Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• One major winter holiday required (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's), including the day before, day of, and day after
• Floating required to other ICUs including Stepdown/Progressive Care/IMC/Telemetry units
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of recent, dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience required
• Recent hands-on competency (within the last 6 months) with all of the following: VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy
• Strong ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips

Additional Information

• Navy blue pants and solid navy blue or solid white tops required; jackets must be solid navy blue or solid white
• Floor orientation consists of 2 shifts
• No on-call or holiday call requirements beyond the standard holiday coverage noted above
