Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in a hospital setting with 15 beds: 3 Step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
- Patient ratios are 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
- Varied shift schedule, working 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
- EMR: Meditech (charting); Pyxis used for medication management
- Equipment includes BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Minimum 2 years of hospital acute care experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- Current BLS/BCLS required
- ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certification preferred
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- Skills required include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
Additional Information
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; the appointment will be held at Hilo Employee Health
- Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before their Monday start date in order to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Scrubs required as the dress code
- 13-week contract
