Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding position at a Level I trauma center, requiring ACLS certification and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.

Details

  • ER Holding unit within a Level I Emergency Department
  • Primarily responsible for caring for admitted patients awaiting inpatient bed availability, including in designated holding areas or hallway spaces
  • May occasionally float to an acute care area when no boarding patients are present
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 6:45 AM)
  • Every other weekend required, with some holiday coverage
  • Block scheduling can be accommodated
  • Floating within scope of practice required to meet facility needs

Requirements

  • Active RN license — TN state or Compact license required (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care or med-surg telemetry (MS Tele) experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care to admitted patients boarded in the ED while awaiting inpatient bed placement
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on prior experience
  • Local candidates residing within 25 miles of the facility are generally not eligible; exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis
