Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position specializing in renal and limb preservation patients, requiring telemetry skills and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- 41-bed inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on renal and limb preservation patients
- Patient population includes ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetics, and diabetic foot ulcer cases
- Peritoneal dialysis treatments are administered on the unit with dialysis team initiation; hemodialysis patients are treated in the dedicated hemodialysis unit
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- 12-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15), 3 shifts per week
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Self-scheduling per unit needs
- EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Additional Information
- Interdisciplinary team includes hospitalists, RN navigators, RNs, nursing assistants, receptionist, dietary, PT/OT, and pharmacy — team meets daily for patient care coordination
- Orientation consists of 24 hours (2 preceptor shifts plus EMR education)
- Scrubs not provided; navy or blue colors required
- RTO is not permitted after booking and cannot be arranged onsite — call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation
- Local candidates are accepted
