Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at an outpatient imaging facility in Waltham, MA, requiring 3+ years of experience and ARRT certification.
Details
- Evening shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, 40 hours per week
- Rotating schedule across two weeks: Week 1 (Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri/Sat), Week 2 (Sun/Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri)
- Outpatient MRI department open 7 days a week from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM
- 2-tech team model with access to state-of-the-art, multi-vendor MRI platforms
- Responsibilities include both clinical and research patient imaging
- Routine outpatient exams performed with and without contrast, including IV contrast injections via MR-compatible power injector
- Charting in Epic EMR (experience required)
- Free parking available at the Waltham location
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of MRI Technologist experience
- ARRT or ARMRIT certification required (Advanced MR certification required within 12 months of hire if not already held)
- BLS certification required (AHA only; no other providers accepted at this location)
- Completion of a Medical Imaging Program (certificate or diploma) required; Associate's degree preferred
- Active MA license required; conditional or pending licenses are not accepted — license required if applicable
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Experience performing routine outpatient MRI exams with and without IV contrast
- Ability to rotate across MRI scanners within the assigned department as needed
- Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Prepare patients, perform positioning, set imaging parameters, acquire and process images, and ensure diagnostic image quality for both clinical and research studies
- Perform IV catheter insertion and administer MR contrast agents, including monitoring for and responding to adverse reactions
- Conduct point-of-care testing (POCT) where applicable
- Serve as the final safety checkpoint prior to scanning, enforcing MRI safety protocols for all persons entering the MRI area
- Identify and respond to hazardous system malfunctions, including securing the magnet bay during emergency situations
- Perform scheduled QC procedures on MRI scanner and related equipment and report equipment issues to supervisor
- Consult with radiologists, nurses, and other content experts as needed
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility may be considered but are subject to a reduced pay rate
- 2 professional references are required for consideration
- Time and attendance tracked via UKG/Kronos
