Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical ICU position at a Level I trauma center in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• Surgical Trauma Critical Care Unit (SICU) located within a large academic medical center
• Cares for critically injured trauma and surgical patients, including transplant, plastics, oncology, obstetrics, gynecology, gastrointestinal, and orthopedic cases
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact RN license accepted
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Level I trauma experience preferred

Additional Information

• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized plans of care
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing and consults appropriate resources for complex or high-risk patients
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and promotes cost-effective, culturally sensitive care
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating every-other-holiday basis
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Background check and drug screen required; candidates should report to the lab for drug screening within 24 hours of committing to the position
