Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital position in Arizona, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active AZ license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting at a teaching, Level IV trauma facility with 87 staffed beds
- Assigned to the PT Acute Care unit with an average daily census of 11 patients
- Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, day shift, 8:00–17:00 (5x8 hours)
- Weekend coverage is required, as the department operates 7 days a week
- May be asked to float to surrounding clinics
- No on-call requirements
- Charting is performed in Cerner
- Free parking is available on-site
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience required
- Active Arizona PT license required and must be in hand at time of placement
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Ability to manage moderate-to-maximum assist patients, including co-treatments and patients on ventilators
- Must be comfortable pivoting quickly to take on additional evaluations throughout the day
- Generalist background with confidence in treating patients with a variety of medical diagnoses preferred
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient evaluation and treatment across a broad range of acute care medical diagnoses
- Candidates should be comfortable working with ventilated patients and managing complex, high-acuity cases
- All staff are expected to adhere to facility quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration protocols (BCMA)
- Business casual attire is required in lieu of scrubs
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Any time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- RTO is subject to unit manager approval
- 13-week contract
