Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 1-2 years of experience for a Home Health position serving a geriatric and middle-aged adult population across orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, and pulmonary diagnoses.
Details
- Home health setting based out of an office in Glen Carbon, IL, serving a multidisciplinary team environment
- Patient population consists of geriatric and middle-aged adults — no pediatric patients
- Diagnoses include orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, pulmonary, diabetes, and other general conditions
- Daily caseload of 5-6 patients per visit
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend coverage is required
- No on-call requirements
- No floating to sister facilities or within the department
- Epic is used for charting
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of physical therapy experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid MO state PT license required; pending IL license acceptable if applicable — license required if applicable
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Strong case management, time management, and organizational skills required
- Ability to work independently and manage a home health caseload
- Experience supervising PTAs preferred
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and patient-centered care skills required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of home health patients, case management, goal-setting, and supervising PTAs as needed
- Orientation is conducted with a preceptor on-site
- Scrubs are provided
- Ample parking is available at the office
- First-time travelers may be considered after an interview
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Allied and non-clinical travelers are limited to 12 months, with a required 6-month break after that period
- Former permanent BJC employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
