Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience with Ortho, Neuro, General, robotic, and trauma surgical specialties.

- Short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center
- Operating Room setting with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Surgical specialties include Orthopedic, Neurological, General, Robotic (Xi/DaVinci 5), and Trauma cases
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00), Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on a block schedule
- Weekends required: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- No on-call required
- No floating between units within this assignment; however, travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state
- Epic EMR — experience required
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license (currently in hand at time of consideration)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Experience in Orthopedic, Neurological, General, Robotic (Xi/DaVinci 5), and Trauma surgical procedures required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Solid navy blue scrubs required for all licensed nursing personnel; print tops are not permitted
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred; excessive RTO requests may impact eligibility for this position
- RTO or scheduling requests must be established prior to submission — post-offer requests may be denied
- Free surface parking available in designated Employee/Visitor Parking lots
