Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience for a 13-week assignment at a Level IV trauma center and major teaching hospital in West Virginia.
Details
- Interventional radiology suite within a short-term acute care hospital (838 staffed beds)
- Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital; member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
- Procedures include peripheral angiography/venography with intervention, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, neuro-intervention including acute stroke, and embolization
- Average daily census of 7–10 patients
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, typically 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- On-call rotation required, approximately 8 days per month including 1 weekend per month, with a 30-minute response time; every third weekend is required (approximately 5–6 weekends per contract)
- May be required to float to a sister facility located approximately 2 miles away for up to 1 week during the assignment
- Charting system: Cerner
- Siemens fluoroscopy and ultrasound experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
- ARRT certification required; WV State License required (may apply with pending license, but license must be active prior to start date) — license required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- Vascular Intervention certification preferred
- Proficiency with PACS, fluoroscopy equipment, and sterile technique required
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) required
- Must be able to perform EKG lead placement and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
- Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Driver's License and Social Security card required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing 75–99 miles away may be submitted for facility approval

- Former permanent employees of this facility are not eligible to return as a traveler until 2 years after their last day of permanent employment
- Flu vaccine is required during flu season (October 1–March 31); exemptions are accepted only with documentation of an allergy confirmed by an allergist or physician — candidates who refuse without medical documentation will not be considered during this window
- COVID-19 vaccine is not required
- Blocked schedule requests are open for discussion and may be accommodated within reason
- Hospital-issued blue surgical scrubs provided
- Free parking available for travelers
- Responsibilities include equipment setup and teardown, room circulation, scrubbing and maintaining a sterile field, prep of access sites, accurate patient monitoring, and maintenance and stocking of supplies and inventory
