Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in complex congenital heart defects for a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Pediatric echo lab setting, floating between two locations: a children's hospital and a North Charleston outpatient clinic
- Daily caseload of 4–10 studies per tech
- Proficiency in scanning pediatric echocardiograms with extensive knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and defects required
- GE Vivid 95 and PACS system experience preferred, including entering full reports
- Epic EMR used at the facility
- Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts with staggered start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- No holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech
- ARDMS certification with Registered Pediatric Sonographer (RPS/PE) credential, or CCI with RCCS certification — all certifications must be in hand at time of start
- Current BLS (AHA only) required
- Pediatric echocardiography experience with complex congenital heart defects required
- SC license required if applicable — candidates with a pending license may be considered, but must be active prior to starting
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off must be disclosed upfront and is subject to facility approval based on scheduling needs
- Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
- Travelers should be aware that all staff and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams, which may be activated during hurricane season (June–November, peak months August–September)
