Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in a rural hospital setting, requiring a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and an active WY or compact RN license.

Details

• 10-bed ICU unit in a rural hospital setting
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 for critical care, 1:4 for stepdown, and 1:4–5 for medsurg overflow
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Spacelabs cardiac monitoring, Mindray vitals monitors, Nicom, Kangaroo pumps, Zoll defibrillators, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• This position includes coverage of MedSurg shifts in addition to ICU
• May float to MedSurg, ER, or postpartum in a support capacity (not as primary nurse of record)
• 12-hour night shifts
• Weekend availability required
• On-call may be required during low census periods

Requirements

• Active WY state or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
• Ability to manage critical care patients in a rural hospital environment
• Two professional references required for consideration: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Orientation includes HR and education requirements on day 1, restraint training on day 2, followed by one shadow shift before working independently
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• 13-week contract
