Description
American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center.
Details
- Inpatient acute care setting within the Rehab Services department at a Level II Trauma Center
- Patient population includes neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions
- Clinician is expected to work across all units within the hospital, primarily located in one tower
- Day shift: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Minimum of 2 weekend days per month required, with additional weekend opportunities available
- Large interdisciplinary rehab department of approximately 45–50 associates, including OT and SLP
- PT team consists of approximately 8 core PTs, 3 core PTAs, and approximately 7 PRN PTs and PTAs
- Cerner EMR used for real-time, point-of-service documentation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience required
- Inpatient acute care experience required
- Current PT license required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- Must provide a valid US Social Security Number and US home address
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment with minimal supervision
- Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessments, plan of care development and revision, and delivery of physical therapy interventions
- Clinician is expected to oversee physical therapy assistants, students, and support personnel
- Regular collaboration with the interdisciplinary team is an integral part of this role
- Training will be provided by the team to prepare the traveler for clinical responsibilities
