Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) night shift position in Albany, GA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active GA or Compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
- 44-bed unit with a nursing staff of 40
- Patient ratio of 1:5, with the possibility of 1:6
- Telemetry is present on the unit but monitored by a separate unit
- CNA support available, typically at a 1:8–1:10 ratio; CNAs may also serve as sitters
- Charting is done in MEDITECH; experience preferred but not required
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage on an as-needed basis
- Floating required to all acute care units, cardiology (for medical patients), or the EC for acute care patient holds
- 17-week contract
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required — both must be AHA-issued
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or acute care RN experience required
- BSN is not required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (distance measured from the address on the candidate's driver's license)
- Driver's license required for consideration

- Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
- Orientation consists of 1 week of general orientation (including EMR training) followed by 2 days of floor-specific orientation
- Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
- Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
