Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) night shift position in Albany, GA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active GA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• 44-bed unit with a nursing staff of 40
• Patient ratio of 1:5, with the possibility of 1:6
• Telemetry is present on the unit but monitored by a separate unit
• CNA support available, typically at a 1:8–1:10 ratio; CNAs may also serve as sitters
• Charting is done in MEDITECH; experience preferred but not required
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage on an as-needed basis
• Floating required to all acute care units, cardiology (for medical patients), or the EC for acute care patient holds
• 17-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required — both must be AHA-issued
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or acute care RN experience required
• BSN is not required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (distance measured from the address on the candidate's driver's license)
• Driver's license required for consideration

• Orientation consists of 1 week of general orientation (including EMR training) followed by 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
• Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
