Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN - First Assist for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring strong orthopedic surgical experience and current first assist qualifications.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting
- Surgical case types include orthopedic, endoscopy, general, and ENT procedures
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, on a rotating 36/48-hour schedule (alternating weeks of 3x12 and 4x12 hours)
- Call rotation required in addition to every 6th or 7th weekend
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license in hand required at time of consideration — no exceptions
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
- Current first assist (FA) experience required
- Strong orthopedic surgical experience required, along with experience in endoscopy, general, and ENT cases
- Driver's license with address matching permanent address required
- Two professional references required: at least one charge nurse or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
- Middle name required (confirmation needed if none)
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Must be willing to work either a major or minor holiday each holiday period
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
- Orientation is held on a bi-weekly basis
- Travelers who have worked within the ARH system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; pairs will not be placed on the same shift or unit
